What is DKIM Record Checker?
DKIM is a registration standard for receiving and sending trusted domain-linked emails under the “Email Sender Policies”. There are methods such as SPF registration and DMARC registration Apart from this registration standard. DKIM record is an abbreviation of an English term, but it means "Domain Keys Identified Mail". The Turkish equivalent of this concept is "E-Mail Identified with Domain Name Keys", and the records are the ones used to reveal whether the source of the e-mails is reliable, whether it has been changed or whether there is a forgery.
What is DKIM Selector?
There is always a need to create a separate DNS record during DKIM records. In this respect, a text file is added to the domain for the unique DNS record that will be needed during the use of DKIM through the DKIM selective use. In this way, systems that change to have more than one key under the desired domain name, changing date ranges, and creation of changing signatures within the scope of third-party services are achieved. The DKIM selector is located in the header part of the DKIM signature and indicates that DNS is present in the public key part of the DKIM key pair.
Why is DKIM Registration Required?
The DKIM record systematically means that the source is reliable, unaltered, and free of forgery, as an e-mail moves between sending/receiving servers. Thanks to this registration, a private and public double key is generated during e-mail sending. The private one of these keys is used for e-mail signing to be published with the DNS TXT records of the public domain name. In this context, DKIM registration always has an important place. Because by using these records against identity theft or spam attacks, the email server can determine whether the message really came from the registered domain.
