A New Milestone in .TR Domain Registration

After the work done by TRABIS on the domain registration with the .TR extension, the way to register the .TR domain extension directly is now open.

After giving .com.tr, net.tr .org.tr last year without document, now the .TR domain extension will be able to be registered directly without any prefix in front of it.

.TR Registration Process

• Existing domain names will be given priority.
• Priority allocation will be made with extension-based categories.
  • Category 1 domain extensions: “a.gov.tr”, “a.edu.tr”, “a.tsk.tr”, “a.bel.tr”, “a.pol.tr” ve “a.k12.tr”
  • Category 2 domain extensions: “a.org.tr”
  • Category 3 domain extensions: “a.com.tr”, “a.net.tr”, “a.gen.tr”, “a.biz.tr”, “a.tv.tr”, “a.name.tr”, “a.av.tr”, “a.web.tr”, “a.info.tr”,

• First come, first served rule will be applied after the priority allocation.

Category 1.

TR Domain Registration Process - “a.gov.tr”, “a.edu.tr”, “a.tsk.tr”, “a.bel.tr”, “a.pol.tr” ve “a.k12.tr”

On 14 September 2023, “a.gov.tr”, “a.edu.tr”, “a.tsk.tr”, “a.bel.tr”, “a.pol.tr” and “a.k12.tr” ” registrations will start and the process will operate within the framework of the following rules:

• In the first allocation transactions, the domain addresses allocated to public institutions will be given priority for more than half of the public institutions and organizations and their capital, respectively.

• In the initial allocation processes of the domain names in the structure of "a.tr", free of charge allocation will be made in TRABİS-KK to the domain owners registered with the "a.gov.tr", "a.edu.tr", "a.tsk.tr", "a.bel.tr", "a.pol. tr” and “a.k12.tr”. The domain names in the structure of "a.tr" allocated according to this rule will be associated with the existing domain names in question on the system.
  
  
  
• In case the “a” domain of the domain names belonging to the parties given priority is the same, priority will be given to the party in the top rank in article 27 of the Internet Domain Names Communiqué hierarchically.
  
  
• Related “a.tr”s of “a.bel.tr” and “a.k12.tr” allocated by parties other than public institutions and organizations will be allocated free of charge for one year. It will be able to be renewed for a fee at the end of one year.
  
  
• “a.gov.tr”, “a.edu.tr”, “a.tsk.tr”, “a.bel.tr”, “a.pol.tr” and “a.k12.tr” belonging to government institutions “a.tr”s created from domain names will be renewed free of charge unless they are “cancelled” or “waived”.
  
  
• Within the scope of the relationship of the new domain name created with the existing domain name, “a.gov.tr”, “a.edu.tr”, “a.tsk.tr”, “a.bel.tr”, “a.pol.tr” and the "waiver", "transfer" and "cancellation" procedures for "a.k12.tr" domain names will also be applied to domain names in the "a.tr" structure associated with the address in question.
  
  
• The domain names in the structure of "a.tr" generated from the names in the 1^st category will be created in TRABİS-KK.
  
  
• The domain names in the structure of "a.tr" belonging to users who receive service from KKs other than TRABİS-KK should be transferred to the KK they prefer by İAAS within one year from their allocation.
  
  
• The domain names in the structure of "a.tr" belonging to users who receive service from KKs other than TRABİS-KK will not be able to perform any operation other than "transfer" during the period they receive service from TRABİS-KK.
  
  
• In the transfer transactions to be made after the first allocation, the condition that sixty days have passed since the first allocation of IAA will not be applied.

Category 2

.TR Domain Registration Process - “a.org.tr”

The test date for the 2^nd category will be announced with the test calendar to be published. The 2^nd category of API tests are planned to be completed by October 14, 2023. The tests carried out within the scope of the 2^nd category and a.tr are planned to be reflected in the real environment between October 14, 2023, and November 14, 2023. In addition, the envisaged registration date schedule is given below.

Institutions and organizations that own .org.tr and give priority to .tr registration:

• Priority Professional organizations that are public institutions
• Public benefit associations and tax exempt foundations
• Workers' or employers' professional organizations

Documentation will be requested from these organizations for registration. After the document collection process, the allocation process will be carried out to the parties with the qualifications.

Category 3

The test date for the 3^rd category will be announced with the test calendar to be published. The envisaged registration date schedule is set out below.

• The priority applications will be collected with "application code" for "a.tr" of existing domain names.
• The domain owner users can apply from any company by obtaining the application code from the existing domain registration company.
• At the end of the determined period, an undocumented allocation will be made to the extensions in the upper clause of the procedural text.

A.TR Domain Extension Fees
